The pine boxes are sanded until smooth enough for acrylics. Each design is carefully created on the box lid with the featured bird prominent within its detailed natural setting. The painting flows through to the front of the box to provide added interest and continuity. Two protective coats of varnish are applied with further sanding in between to maintain the smooth feel. No detail is spared in the painting and the gloss varnish draws out the colour beautifully, as well as proving that extra shine.
